The nervous system is a complex network of nerves and cells that carry messages to and from the brain and spinal cord to various parts of the body. It includes both the Central Nervous System (CNS) and the Peripheral Nervous System (PNS).

Key Components:

• Brain: Controls all body functions and processes information
• Spinal Cord: Transmits signals between the brain and the rest of the body
• Neurons: Individual nerve cells that transmit electrical and chemical signals
• Synapses: Connections between neurons where signals are transmitted
